The story of caribArt Collection 2015 Ltd. began with Tricia Trotman-Maraj's first trip to Europe and a long but unsuccessful search for pieces of art that represented her rich Caribbean culture. Eventually, Tricia decided to take the bull by the horns and took up her paintbrush and returned to the canvas after twenty-six years of full-time work, school and raising children. One by one pieces of authentic Caribbean 'art history' filled her walls and the positively overwhelming response she received made her decide to take it a step further by creating a platform where other Caribbean artists could access global markets. This birthed the caribArt Project which has been well promoted in the U.K. and other parts of Europe with the very first showing at the Elizabeth James Gallery London, United Kingdom.
